There are many high-priced restaurants in San Diego, all of them out of my price range. I have, however, eaten at all of them….
I have never eaten at Croce’s Restaurant & Jazz Bar, which is downtown in the Gaslamp Quarter, the historic heart of San Diego.
Croce’s is named after singer-songwriter Jim Croce and was founded by his widow, Ingrid, in 1985. She sold the restaurant in 2013.
Since the awesome Julian thinks Jim Croce’s songs are fine fine fine, I thought we would share his five best songs, picked by Julian.

Without purpose life would be a continuous cycle of sleeping, eating, working and repeating it all over day after day. This procedure becomes automatic with the absence of thought, similar to being a robot. There is a price one pays when they fall into this mode. The synapses of their brain curl and wither like gnarled arthritic hands, losing movement as they become frozen in one pointless position. Purpose is what adds new colorful landscaped roads to the continual construction site of the mind. These roads can lead one to uncharted territories that spark and reveal a new concept or idea that adds fuel to one’s journey in life. One of the reasons why I decided to become a fitness instructor was due to how I was treated in phys ed classes. Not being athletically inclined, I yearned for a gym class where everyone would be treated equally; no one…

Oh, science fiction. It’s my favorite genre, and I’m always intrigued by a new sci-fi IP. That’s why I’ve been so excited about Bungie’s new game Destiny for a very long time now. This past weekend, Stephen Rhodes was kind enough to hook me up with an extra beta code so I could give it a try, which totally made my day!
So far, playing Destiny feels a lot like living in a crazy dystopian Star Wars-type of universe where I get to be a robot. It’s kind of perfect, but it brings to mind something I’ve talked about here on Robo♥beat before: the science fantasy genre, for which I am also a sucker.
As much as I love science fiction — pure, hard sci-fi — I often find it to be either too cold/scientific or a terrifying post-apocalyptic wreck. Neither of those feels very inviting to me…

Robbie Hummel couldn’t stay healthy at Purdue.
After being drafted No. 58 by the Timberwolves in 2012, he went to Spain – and couldn’t stay healthy there.
Minnesota signed Hummel to a one-year, minimum-salary contract last summer. Then, he finally stayed healthy enough to do what he does: Shoot 3-pointers.
Playing 12.4 minutes per game in 53 contests, including five starts, last season, Hummel attempted a majority of his shots from beyond the arc. The 6-foot-8 forward made 36 percent of his 3-pointers.
That earned him a second one-year deal.
Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today:
Hummel’s minimum salary is $816,482, and the Timberwolves can re-sign him for up to…
